The Queensland State League (formerly SBL) competition was introduced in 2020. 

The competition has been split into three division including Division One and Two as well as Youth League (formerly Under-21). The QSL Division One and Two competition runs between April and August.

The QSL Youth League competition was introduced in 2022. The competition will remain the same as previous U21 Junior Representative seasons in 2022 with the view to implement additional changes to competition structure, seasons, and rules in 2023 after further consultation & input from Associations.
