Basketball Queensland's (BQ) New Year's Coaching Clinic is back in 2021!
Join Coach Liam Flynn, BA's Coach Director (High Performance) Peter Lonergan & Gold Coast Sun's Assistant Coach (AFL) Josh Drummond on the eve of the U18 State Championships Coach as they delve into BQ's Style of Play, early offence concept and organising defence.

4:30pm - 5:00pm: Organising Defence within the Gold Coast Suns AFL Team - Presented by Josh Drummond
Josh Drummond is an Assistant Coach for the Gold Coast Suns, following six seasons coaching for North Melbourne and a 94- game career at the Brisbane Lions. Join Josh as he delves into the defensive structure and mindset of the Gold Coast Suns and how those principles can translate into basketball.
5:00pm - 6:30pm: Advanced Pick and Roll Concepts for the BQ Style of Play (Create Phase) - Presented by Liam Flynn
Coach Liam Flynn boasts an impressive resume, from his years of junior representative coaching to six years in the NBL as an Assistant Coach, coaching in Germany and New Zealand, as well as scouting for the NBA.
7:00pm - 8:30pm: Early Offence - Advanced Concepts in the Pace & Space Phase - Presented by Peter Lonergan
Peter Lonergan is Basketball Australia’s Coach Director of High-Performance. He has extensive coaching experience including Assistant Coach of the Australian Opals, Head Coach of the Australian Sapphires and has been heavily involved as a coach at an Australia Junior Championship level.
